POINT OF VIEW INTERVIEW #26

PRODUCER/DJ: BOHKEH

How do you describe bliss when you hear it? Bohkeh's casually captivating music merges sweet sounds and inducing vocals that show his youthful artistry in all his tunes. From Los Angeles, California, Bohkeh is doing nothing but thriving in a city where music flourishes and expands. With almost 9,000 followers on SoundCloud, this young producer has dropped two successful EPs, multiple remixes, and singles that are catching the ears of many. Tracks like "Tell Me What" featuring Osmoji and his remix of Mark Redito's "Goodbye" display a chill, almost sugary, sound that he offers. With many projects in store, I had the chance to interview the talented Bohkeh! Check it out below and hope you enjoy!

Question 1: What got you into making music?

It was my 10th Birthday when I got my first instrument. My parents bought me a drum set and within the next couple of years, I picked up an electric guitar and fell in love with covering and writing songs.

Question 2: What people intrigue you or inspire you to pursue music?

I get inspired quite easily haha! I can watch inspiring videos online or watch a movie and it would just inspire me to pursue my dreams. If I were to mention people, I’d write a whole list! From like Albert Einstein’s work ethic to my dog’s outrageous curiosity; I get inspired by the littlest thing.

Question 3: How would you define your style of music?

Whatever I'm feeling at the moment really. I love pop, R&B, and electronic; so lots of my musical inspirations come from artists within those genres. I kinda hop around so I don't know if I can define my style at the moment, I'm still in the process of finding myself haha.

Question 4: What influences your style of work?

I really just like being at home and working from there. Lately I haven't been much of an outside person so I think that kinda helps with how consistent I work. As for influences, just being in my own head and following what my heart tells me pretty much gives me that push to work. My style of work is boring to be honest haha I just zone out and do weird stuff, that’s how it works for me!

Question 5: What is your favorite track that you have produced so far?

Ohhh man it'd probably have to be the Promise Remix I worked on with Timid Soul. He's such a humble and genuine dude it was great experiencing how he works and how his sets look. He's hands down one of my favorite producers; loved working with him and the track came out wonderfully.

Question 6: How far do you plan to take your music, any goals? Who would you like to work with in the future?

Dang, I really don't like looking too far out so I really can't say. I just want to do my best in everything I do and keep my fans happy. Growing my friendship base and just playing for people that enjoy the music is great for me. To go on tour by next year would be frikin awesome!! As for now, I'm just living inside this moment and hoping for the best.
