The night was filled with nothing but happiness and celebration on Wednesday, August 3rd. It was a mid-week turn up you could say at the Los Globos venue. On Sunset Blvd, Paper Crane threw their very first LA show, and we were more than honored to be a part of this exciting event! With Tofuku warming up the crowd to a 10, her first individual set was an experience you did not want to miss! From Keii's Jersey Club influenced set to Omniboi's sweet vibey performance, the diversity of artists that night had everyone in awe. Then you had Madnap going B2B with Naisu, both complementing each other supremely well, having the crowd dance their feet off to various styles of music. Ducky, closing the night, had everyone sweat in the club, shaking the atmosphere from left to right. She even joined her own mosh pit to close her set! One of the best things that we have ever witnessed! In this intimate setting, it was simple to see that the artists could easily vibe with their audience, almost creating a one on one experience. It was a proud and successful night for everyone. Below, after the festivities concluded, we had an opportunity to ask Paper Crane a few questions about their first Los Angeles show! Enjoy!
Also, recap video of Paper Crane's LA show is available for your enjoyment!
Thank-you to Paper Crane for allowing us to experience and capture the moments that were shared that night! <3
BARON LANTEIGN Written by: Zebrina Garcia If anyone is pushing the elements of visual art, it's Canadian resident, Baron Lanteigne. His digital practice holds your attention to different elements of perspective by using tools of video, sound, programming, and electronics. Diving into a virtual realm of his imagination, each project consists of ambitious human and digital conversions. Lanteigne progressively reforms the way art can be applied, digested, and displayed. For our next MEDIUM feature, read about Baron Lanteigne's journey in his artistic development and process. How long have you been creating art? idk What is your typical process for creating a virtually immersive piece? A typical animation requires the artist to frame the action and only create what is within the frame. This type of framing allows for very strong storytelling because every frame introduces a meaningful element or event and each frame is isolated from the other by a cut. In m
VOLUME 3 Composed of 20 amazingly talented artists, Fanserivce Collective is back with another compelling compilation that drips mystic rhythms. Filip's " They Know " eases you into Volume 3's aura by drawing in your attention to fluttering beats and dark sultry bass. Another outstanding track from this riveting comp is Sabori's rumbling " Monolith " which can literally light up a hot club by its pouncing beats and sketched up vocal samples. As you glide deeper into Volume 3 you start to encounter beautifully composed tracks like Brooke Barry's " Come Find Me " produced by Madnap and Skydoki's " Impulse ." And just when you think Fanservice's newest project couldn't get any more diverse you are hit with what could be major festival worthy tracks like Jacob Sampson's " Baile " or Arrowhead's " Foxtrot "! Truly this volume is severe fire and its one you should not be sleeping on! Below s
