Question 1: What got you into making music?

Well, I've never played an instrument so I would definitely have to say, my brother. When I was growing up my brother would constantly be blasting anything from Armin Van Buuren to Eminem to The Gorillaz, so I think just hearing a wide variety of music at a young age shaped my tastes. Every once in a while he would show me music that he would be into at the time. I can vividly remember when he showed me Skrillex in 7th grade... that was big for me because it propelled me into the electronic music world and I wouldn't be here today if that didn't happen. However, it wasn't until I got on SoundCloud the end of my Freshman year in High School that I really got into music. As I began to dig for tunes, I started making mashups and releasing under the alias.. "tkwtb". I kept digging and doing mashups for a while up until my senior year where I started making some simple hip hop beats and releasing those instead. Shortly thereafter, I made a side project called "grinless"... which is now, as you all know, my main haha.

Question 2: What people intrigue you or inspire you to pursue music?

I kind of go through phases. Like right now I'm definitely in a Tennyson phase. For the past two months, I've only been playing Tennyson in the car haha... s/o Tess and Luke. Alongside them, I've also been geeking out to a bunch of Antonio Mendez/Lindsay Lowend songs. Music that creates an atmosphere or like a world you can escape into for a few minutes at a time is beautiful to me.

Question 3: How would you define your style of music?

For grinless.. "happy sample based club music"
For lunarcycle.. "cutesy future pop"

Question 4: What influences your style of work?

Nostalgia and long drives at night alone. There's honestly nothing better than just seeing the sights while hearing your favorite music play. Also anime haha.. I don't talk about it a lot, but I watch a good amount here and there. Just seeing the art and going through the roller-coaster of emotions the storylines can often put you through fuels me creatively.

Question 5: What is your favorite track that you have produced so far?

Probably my lunarcycle track, "I miss you." It feels like the most personal thing that I've made, and I think it does a good job of capturing the feelings I felt while making it. If I had to pick a grinless track, though, I would have to say my Mija and Vindata- Better edit

Question 6: How far do you plan to take your music, any goals in mind? Who would you like to work with in the future?

I have a few goals, but as of right now I think they're not worth mentioning. I definitely want to try and put out more original lunarcycle. But yeah for real I kind of just do this for fun, and I'm just seeing where it takes me! :') And as for who I would like to work with that's a tough one haha... I mean, I already really enjoy working with Ethan or as you guys know him 'Warpstr'. We've made a few things already, but they're not worth releasing sooo I think it would be cool to actually finish something in the future together. That kid is mad talented, and I'm really excited to see what the future holds for him.

"A majority of this mix are songs that I ran into and fell in love with during my first years of just digging in SoundCloud. I hope you enjoy!"
